1. What fraction of a day is 8 hours?

Solution:   Over here we want fraction of 8 hours. So we have to convert day to number of hours.

1 day = 24 hours

Therefore fraction we get is 8/24 = 1/3

2. Draw a number line and locate the points on them, 2/5, 3/5, 8/5, 4/5

Solution: Here we have to draw a number line divided into 5 equal parts as denominator of the fraction is 5.

Here 2/5 is 2 part in total of 5 parts,

Similarly 3/4 is the 3 rd part out of total 5 parts

As regards to 8/5 convert to mixed fraction we get 5 | 8 | 1

So mixed fraction is 1 3/5

So we have 1 + 3/5

4) Write as fraction in lowest term 0.125

Solution: i) First we convert decimal to fraction we get 125/1000

ii) Now in step to reduce the term to lowest or simplest form. For that we have to find HCF
