Distributivity Property of Multiplication over Addition
For example you are given following sum:
4 + 9 x 8 then the way to solve this is
9 x 8 = 64
then 4 + 64 = 68
So first we are solving multiplication and then doing addition.
So what we have is distributivity property of multiplication over addition.
There is similar thing called DMAS (First do 1) Division 2) Multiplication 3) Addition 4) Subtraction.
For example 4 x 2 + 3 /2 - 3 so you solve such a problem by following DMAS principle.
First Division 3/2 = 1.5
so you have 4 x2 + 1.5 - 3 then you do multiplication
4x2 = 8 so we have 8 + 1.5 -3 then do addition
8 + 1.5 = 9.5 -3 then you do subtraction
9.5 - 3 = 6.5
So the final answer is 6.5
