Q 2) Fill in the blanks:

1) The simplest form of 85/153 is

Solution: As i had mentioned in earlier papers sums which are greater then 100 (i.e. 100 - 400) requires knowledge of tables between 10 - 20

which very few students know it. If the number is less then 100 then prime numbers 2,3,5, and 7 can be used to

find HCF values. For numbers between 100 - 400 we should know tables of prime numbers 11, 13 and 17 and 19

In the above sum both the terms can be divided by 17 hence we get answer = 5/9

2) The mixed fraction for the improper fraction 15/4 is 3 3/4

Solution:  4 | 15 | 3

                     12

---------------------------

                       3

Hence improper fraction is 3 3/4

3) The distance 4.5 km is equal to 4500 mt

because 1 km = 1000 mt

so         4.5 km = ?

Cross multiply and we get answer 4500 mt

4) A pictograph represent data through picture of objects

5) 17 / 10 is the fractional form of 1.7

6) 18 = x + 2 is an equation

7) The exponential form of 15x a x a x a is 15a3

Here a is repeated 3 times hence 3 in exponential form.

8) The ratio of 250 gm to 5 kg is ___________

Solution: convert 5 kg to 5000 gm. Now ratio is 250 : 5000 = 25/500 = 1/20 or 1: 20

9) The decimal form of 31 2/100 = 3102/100 = 31.02

Solution: 31 x 100 + 2 /100 = 3102 /100 = 31.02

10) 5 paisa is expressed as Rs. 0.05

1 Rs.  =  100 paisa

?       =    5 paisa

Cross multiply and you get answer = 0.05
